MONTYS DIARY
Autumn is upon is, there's a chill in the air, the mornings are darker & the evenings shorter. Time for a little vacation I think. But when I return I shall be heading along to the Elsecar Heritage Centre.

MONTYS DIARY
Hello everyone,
I apologise for not attending to my duties here but I have been busy over in LA these past few weeks. My return to the UK was heralded by some great summer weather & I have been taking every opportunity to absorb the glorious sunshine by visiting the Elsecar Heritage Centre. Come on down folks & see what this wonderful place has to offer!

MONTYS DIARY
I had an absolutely spiffing time at the Elsecar Heritage Centre today. After a slow start the weather was at it's best. I divided my time between soaking up the sun & browsing around the shops. After lunch in Brambles tea rooms I ventured forth into the antiques centre where I bagged myself a rather stylish silver topped gentlemans walking cane. After being asked to sign a couple of autographs & pose for photo's I found myself over at the railway, where I sat on a bench & watched the world pass me by for a little while. Thank heavens I was wearing the panama hat which was presented to me by that wonderful actress Audrey Heartburn as a present at the close of filming the 1959 motion picture 'THE CASTAWAYS', a romantic comedy in which Ms Heartburn & myself played a Heiress & her butler who, after being involved in a aeroplane crash, find themselves marooned on a desert island where, despite a series of hilarious incidents, love blossoms.

MONTYS MONTAGE
Here are a few photographs I snapped during a recent visit to the Elsecar Heritage Centre;
The Green & white diesel train always reminds me of my 1972 film 'RAILROAD TO RUIN' in which I played a crooked railway magnate alongside my old friend, the legendary actor Charlie Ronson.

MONTYS DIARY
Those splendid chaps at the Elsecar Heritage Railway have finally managed to get the level crossing in place!
After many years of wrangling & fund raising work has commenced on the last leg of the EHRs line extension project. The main stumbling block for which was the need to lay a level crossing across the road at the nearby village of Hemmingfield. It gives me great pleasure to announce that, at long last, the crossing has been constructed & the next section of line (which will run to Cortonwood) is now being laid.
Well done to everyone concerned!

MONTYS DIARY
An extraordinary turn of fate the other day. I was visiting the Elsecar Heritage Centre & enjoying a spot of lunch in Brambles tea room when I was approached by a party of American tourists. It turned out that they were members of the MHWAS & had traveled all the way from the states just to see where I live! It just so happened that I happened to be at home that day for one day only as I am currently shooting a one off TV special. My break meant that I was able to meet those dear people & give them a guided tour around the Heritage Centre!

MONTYS DIARY
It's cold & wintery here in Elsecar, I am sitting in my study looking out across the grounds, enjoying a single malt whilst watching the first snowflakes of the season fall. It reminds me of my 1948 movie 'IT'S A WONDERFUL WINTER' in which I starred with my old friend Croz Bingby.
I aim to take a walk to the Elsecar Heritage Centre upon the morrow.
Goodnight my friends,
Monty.
